As an advocate you will help to empower survivors Domestic Violence in re-establishing control of their lives. Volunteers also offer support and education to secondary victims
Volunteers provide comprehensive victim services to survivors of sexual assault. Volunteers will respond to medical forensic exams when scheduled and provide crisis intervention, emotional support, resources and community referrals. Volunteers assist survivors in developing a safety plan and coordinate with law enforcement and medical staff as needed. This is an on-call nights, weekends, and holidays position.
Joining a working committee or the Board allows you to help the agency at the 100,000 foot level. You will be working on the strategic goals of the organization as we work towards expansion. No need to be a nonprofit expert, we need experts in other areas like marketing, construction, legal and accounting.

Due to geography, time constraints and other factors, not everyone can physically volunteer with another organization. We need your support in any of its limitless forms. Another option is to become what we call a “Digital Advocate” for Family Life Center and our partners. What’s involved?
Family Life Center receives donations from community members from 9-3 Monday-Friday. Donation sorters are needed each weekday. In between sorting, volunteers are able to read, work on personal projects, and/or help with admin tasks
This internship would work with the Community Relations Advocate to design marketing pieces, produce newsletters and flyers, assisting with media coordination and other duties assigned. There will be a strong emphasis with posting and managing social media sites. We are looking for an active degree-seeking student majoring in Marketing, Communications or other related field.
