Joining a working committee or the Board allows you to help the agency at the 100,000 foot level. You will be working on the strategic goals of the organization as we work towards expansion.  No need to be a nonprofit expert, we need experts in other areas like marketing, construction, legal and accounting.

Due to geography, time constraints and other factors, not everyone can physically volunteer with another organization. We need your support in any of its limitless forms. Another option is to become what we call a “Digital Advocate” for Family Life Center and our partners. What’s involved?

  • Sign up for regular updates to stay informed
  • Connect with us on social media to help raise awareness of our issues with those in your social networks
  •  Commit to sharing a blog article, website page or other link about Family Life Center per week to friends and family
  •  Look out for online advocacy opportunities that we’re not participating in
  • Engaging businesses to raise funds

Why Volunteer

  • It is personally fulfilling to give back and help others in need in our community.
  • Boosts resumes to colleges and jobs
  • Can sometimes count as college credit
  • Meet new people
  • Get your foot in the door for a career change
  • Gain references on a resume

What better way to show you are worthy of employment than volunteering and proving that you are the right person for the job.  Just a quick did you know…… in a study provided by Indeed.com that 1 in 5 employers are more likely to hire a person who has volunteer time.  That is a 20 percent increase in your chances to get the job you’ve been waiting for.

You have the opportunity to give to your community and help those who need help the most.  The feeling you will have, knowing that you are making a difference in someone’s life is indescribable and is a feeling you’ll never know until you experience it.
